When Dicey,James,Maybeth and,Sammy get abandoned and left in a car in a strange place.
When Dicey and her siblings had waited in the car for a whole day when they left to where their destination in the first place was. Dicey has to care for her younger siblings and feed them and herself. when after a few weeks they arrive at Bridgeport ,their destination its not quite what Dicey thought it would be.
There is 13 year old Dicey who takes care of her family.
And 10 year old James who is very smart.
And 9 year old Maybeth who is shy and slow at reading, she is very far behind in her grade and has been kept down in first grade and was going to be left behind in second grade. But she is very pretty
Last 6 year old stubborn Sammy who is determined that his Momma loves him and his Momma does love him.
This is a fantastic book and deserves reading...... or maybe the book is just my style?
